Comments

Comment (Deposit): IN MINOR SHEAR ZONES IN THE DOLOMITE AND CONGLOMERATE, AND AS SMALL REPLACEMENT LENSES IN DOLOMITE. SEVERAL MINERALIZED AREAS OCCUR IN AN E-TRENDING BELT; THE LARGEST AREA 300 FT X 135 FT, LENSES OF NEARLY PURE HEMATITE AND PARTLY REPLACED DOLOMITE AND CONGLOMERATE ARE INTERMIXED WITH SMALL MASSES OF UNREPLACED COUNTRY ROCK.

Comment (Development): A FEW TONS OF IRON ORE WERE PRODUCED IN 1952 BUT THE OPERATION WAS SHUT DOWN DUE TO DIFFICULTY OF MAINTAINING A 57% FE MINIMUM GRADE

Comment (Workings): 2 PITS SHOWN ON TOPO SHEET, SHAFT, 40' ADIT, "CUTS" REPORTED (1958)

Comment (Location): A FEW MILES SW OF THE MAIN ROCK HILL DISTRICT . TO SHAFTS IN MINE AREA. UTM IS TO ONE OF SEVERAL WORKINGS. ; INFO FROM LAND.ST :(1972)

Comment (Production): DIFFICULTY IN MAINTAINING MINIMUM GRADE OF 57% FE HALTED MINING

Comment (Geology): CONGOLMERATE=CANDELARIA FM SLATE, QUARTZITE=PALMETTO FM. DOLOMITE=DIABLO FM.
