MRDS mine locations are often very general, and in some cases are incorrect. Some mine remains have been covered or removed by modern industrial activity or by development of things like housing. The satellite view offers a quick glimpse as to whether the MRDS location corresponds to visible mine remains.

Comment (Development): 13 CLAIMS STAKED AS PARAMOUNT GROUP IN 1920. 300 FT. ADIT DRIVEN BEFORE 1941, SURFACE MINING OF VEINS 1938-39 OF MOST HIGH-GRADE GOLD BEARING QUARTZ. 2 LODE CLAIMS STAKED IN 1953.
Comment (Deposit): LOWER PROSPECT CONSISTS OF N 5 DEGREES-25 DEGREES E STRIKING 50 DEGREES NW DIPPING QUARTZ VEIN PINCHING AND SWELLING FROM 0-2 FT. WIDE, WITH AVERAGE WIDTH OF 14 IN., AND 400 FT. LONG. VEIN IS IN DIORITE, AND CONTAINS SPARSE PYRITE, CHALCOPYRITE, AND GOLD. SECOND VEIN, IN UPPER PROSPECT, LIES IN SMALL FAULT STRIKING N 60 DEGREES E, DIPPING 85 DEGREES SE. VEIN IS LENTICULAR WITH MAXIMUM THICKNESS OF 2 FT., AND CONTAINS PYRITE AND GOLD. MAXIMUM LENGTH IS 240 FT. ALTERED DIORITE WALL ROCK CONTAINS SOME GOLD UP TO 4-8 FT. FROM FAULT. A THIRD, ALMOST INACCESSABLE VEIN ON E SIDE OF GULLY AT 1400 FT. ELEVATION IS FROM 5-8 IN. THICK, AND CONTAINS QUARTZ AND FREE GOLD.
Comment (Location): USGS B 1058-E, P. 205, FIG. 41; USGS MF-467, LOC. 3; USGS MF-1476 B, LOC. 2. LOCATION IS AT ADIT AT LOWER PROSPECT. UPPER PROSPECT IS 4,000 FT. SW AT 1,100 FT. ELEVATION. LAND STATUS VALUE CALCULATED 6-94 USING GIS OVERLAY ANALYSIS WITH BLM 1:2,500,000 SCALE OWNERSHIP STATUS MAP (1991).
Comment (Workings): 300 FT. LONG ADIT FOLLOWS QUART VEIN ON LOWER PROSPECT. NUMEROUS PITS AND TRENCHES ALSO CUT.
