Mine Info
Satelite View
MRDS mine locations are often very general, and in some cases are incorrect. Some mine remains have been covered or removed by modern industrial activity or by development of things like housing. The satellite view offers a quick glimpse as to whether the MRDS location corresponds to visible mine remains.

Comment (Location): USGS MF-371 LOC. 48. COORDINATES GIVEN FOR DISCOVERY CLAIM NEAR MOUTH OF CREEK. PLACER GROUND CONTINUES UPSTREAM FOR APPROXIMATELY 2 MI. LAND STATUS VALUE CALCULATED 6-94 USING GIS OVERLAY ANALYSIS WITH BLM 1:2,500,000 SCALE OWNERSHIP STATUS MAP (1991).
Comment (Development): MINED BY DRIFTING AND HYDRAULIC METHODS IN MOST YEARS FROM DISCOVERY UNTIL AS RECENTLY AS 1952.
Comment (Deposit): GOLD MOSTLY ON BEDROCK. POORLY DEFINED SHALLOW PAY STREAK 100-150 FT WIDE. GRAVEL AND MUCK OVERBURDEN 6-15 FT. THICK. UPPER PART OF VALLEY UNPRODUCTIVE.
Comment (Geology): QUARTZ VEINS CONTAIN DISSEMINATED PYRITE. ; MAJOR.UNITS: BEDROCK MAINLY GREENSTONE AND DIABASE CONTAINING QUARTZ VEINS AS MUCH AS 18 IN. THICK. ; REG.COM: SOURCE OF GOLD THOUGHT TO BE QUARTZ VEINS IN PERMIAN TO TRIASSIC GREENSTONE.
Comment (Deposit): STREAM GRADIENT ABOUT 100 FT. PER MILE. THERE IS ADEQUATE WATER FOR HYDRAULIC MINING, BUT THE GRADE OF THE CREEK IS TOO LOW FOR SLUICE BOXES. BEST PAY CLAIM 1400 FT. ABOVE DISCOVER CLAIM ; INFO.SRC : 1 PUB LIT; 2 UNPUB REPT
