ORGANIZED IN 1899 OPERATED STEADILY UNTIL 1922, PRODUCING 887,585 TONS OF ORE WHICH YIELDED $3,834,550. IDLE SINCE 1922 EXCEPT FOR A SMALL AMOUNT OF WORK IN 1925. TOTAL OF $5,154,382 IN GOLD PRODUCED. PRINCIPAL VEIN IS THE BUNKER HILL, OR HANGING WALL VEIN; OTHERS INCLUDING THE GOUGE VEIN AND THE LAST CHANCE LIE IN THE FOOTWALL. MAY BE THE SHAFT SHOWN IN THE SW 1/4 SE 1/4 SEC. 25 ON USGS QUAD. SUTTER CREEK, CALIF. 1957

IN THICKNESS; SOME BLACK SLATE HEAVILY CHARGED WITH PYRITE AND SOME ARSENOPYRITE; SLATE FOOTWALL, META-ANDESITE HANGING WALL; VEINS IN BOTH HANGING AND FOOTWALLS; IN PLACES SLATE AND GREENSTONE INTERBEDDED AND GREENSTONE ALTERED TO SCHIST; ORE OCCURS IN CRUSHED SLATE GOUGE VEINS, QUARTZ STRINGERS AND LARGE BODIES OF QUARTZ.
