Comments

Comment (Deposit): Discovery Year: 1890'S OR EARLY 1900'S

Comment (Production): WORKED INTERMITTENTLY 1910-1930'S; LITTLE ACTIVITY EXCEPT ASSESSMENT WORK SINCE 1938. IN 1932 IT WAS ESTIMATED THAT THERE WAS 14,000 TONS OF ORE BETWEEN THE 68-FT. AND 225 FT. LEVELS ON THE MAIN SHAFT BUT THERE IS NO RECORD OF ANY OF THIS HAVING BEEN REMOVED; VALUE WAS ESTIMATED TO RUN $10.50 PER TON BUT RECORDED PRODUCTION BETWEEN 1931-34 RAN CONSIDERABLY LESS. QUARTZ CARRIES $7 - $10 FREE GOLD/TON & SULFIDES AVERASING $400 - $900/TON.

Comment (Workings): TWO SHAFTS, TWO ADITS, DRIFTS, WINZE; MAIN (NORTHERLY) SHAFT IN GOOD CONDITION BUT THE OTHER CAVED BELOW 68 FT.

Comment (Geology): GEOL.DESC: LAIZURE ( 1928 ) DESCRIBES FOOTWALL AS SLATE AND PORPHYRY, HANGING WALL AS DIORITE. BOWEN & GRAY DESCRIBE WALL ROCKS AS PYROXENE ANDESITE OF THE PENON BLANCO MEMBER OF THE UPPER JURASSIC AMADOR GROUP - THE GREENSTONES CONTACT THE MARIPOSA SLATE 1/2 MI. E OF THE MINE.

Comment (Location): UTM ACC. SE 1/4 ?
