About the MRDS Data:
All mine locations were obtained from the USGS Mineral Resources Data System. The locations and other information in this database have not been verified for accuracy. It should be assumed that all mines are on private property.
Mine Info
Satelite View
MRDS mine locations are often very general, and in some cases are incorrect. Some mine remains have been covered or removed by modern industrial activity or by development of things like housing. The satellite view offers a quick glimpse as to whether the MRDS location corresponds to visible mine remains.

Comments
Comment (Location): CHOSE A POINT ON SECTION BORDER
Comment (Deposit): THE QUARTZ LENSES RANGE FROM A FEW INCHES TO SLIGHTLY MORE THAN 2 FEET WIDE. IN SEVERAL PLACES THE LENSES PIOCH OUT AGAINST FRACTURES OF LOW INCLINATION.
Comment (Workings): THE PORTAL OF THE CUMMINGS LEASE TUNNEL IS ON THIS CLAIM. THE TUNNEL FOLLOWS A QUARTZ VEIN FOR A DISTANCE OF 290FT IN TO THE HILL SIDE. THREE RAISES, ONE REACHING THE SURFACE, EXPLORE THE UPPER PART OF THE VEIN; AND WINZES WITH DRIFTS LEADING FROM THEM FOLLOW THE VEIN FOR A DISTANCE OF MORE THAN 100 FEET DOWNDIP BELOW THE TUNNEL LEVEL.
Comment (Geology): THE QUARTZ MONZONITE IS SHEARED AND ALTERED FOR WIDTHS OF SEVERAD FEET.
Comment (Production): TOTAL VALUE PRODUCED WAS $5,000 TO $100,000 CUMMINGS MINES ORE THAT RANGED IN CONTENT FROM 300 TO 1500 OUNCES SILVER TO THE TON. THIS MUST HAVE BEEN CAREFULLY HAND-SORTED MATERIAL. CUMMINGS' PRODUCTION IS UNCERTAIN BUT DID NOT EXCEED A FEW THOUSAND DOLLARS.
Comment (Development): MUCH OF THE WORK WAS DONE BY CON CUMMINGS UNDER LEASE IN 1916.
