Comment (Deposit): Discovery Year: LATE 1800'S

Comment (Deposit): 2 PATENTED CLAIMS (STELLA, LITTLE STELLA)

Comment (Development): OWNERS INCLUDED SHANNON COPPER CO., ARIZONA COPPER CO., LTD; OPERATORS INCLUDED CHARLES E. STEVENS, JR., STEVENS COPPER MINING CO., JESUS GOMEZ, R.L. NARDELLI

Comment (Workings): DEVELOPMENTS INCLUDED 2 TUNNELS A FEW HUNDRED FEET LONG, THE LOWER ONE LOCATED ALMOST IN THE BOTTOM OF GARFIELD GULCH; ONE WINZE 60 FT DEEP, EXPOSING GOOD CHALCOCITE ORE.

Comment (Geology): THE DIABASE DIKE RARELY CONTAINS MUCH ORE. THE VEIN MATERIAL CONSISTS LARGELY OF CRUSHED AND ALTERED GRANITE. NEAR THE END OF THE TUNNEL THE VEIN APPEARS TO FORK, WITH SOME DIABASE OCCURRING ALONG EACH BRANCH.

Comment (Commodity): ABOVE THE LOWER TUNNEL, THE ORE CONSISTS OF ABOUT 25 % CHALCOCITE AND 75 % MALACHITE.

Comment (Location): LOCATED IN GARFIELD GULCH, 0.25 MILE ABOVE THE MOUTH. ; INFO FROM LAND.ST :(1973)
