Comment (Production): PROPERTY LEASED BY DR. J. T. STACY DURING WORLD WAR II AND A FEW TRUCK LOADS OF MANGANESE ORE WERE MINED AND SHIPPED WITH A PART OF A SHIPMENT FROM THE STIRNAMAN MINE. IDLE SINCE WWII. THE SMALL AMOUNT OF ORE SHIPPED AVERAGED 52 PERCENT MANGANESE, 3 PERCENT IRON, AND 4.5 PERCENT SILICA.

Comment (Geology): GEOL.DESC: LENSES OF PSILOMELANE AND SOME PYROLUSITE; 1 TO 3 FT. THICK OCCUR IN MASSIVE METACHERT. METACHERT ENCLOSED IN RHYTHMICALLY BEDDED METACHERT WITH ORIGINAL SHALE PARTINGS. SHOWS SOME OCCURRENCE OF RHODOCROSITE.
Comment (Deposit): THE LENSES GRADE INTO LOW-GRADE ORE. AN ORE BODY 80 FT. LONG HAS BEEN EXPOSED BY THE DEVELOPMENT WORK. RHODONITE MINED IN 1955 AND 1956, FOR GEM STONE MATERIAL
