THREE DISTINCT GRAVEL CHANNELS; DEPOSIT IS EVIDENTLY THE REMNANT OF AN ANCIENT CHANNEL OR OLD BENCHES OF CALAVERAS RIVER. TWO OF THE CHANNEL RUNS HAVE A TOTAL WIDTH OF 350' OF GRAVEL, FROM 26-40' IN DEPTH. SLATE BEDROCK, GRAVEL TESTS $3 A CU. YD.

Comment (Production): WORKED BY DRIFTING IN 1920S, BY GASOLINE SHOVEL & MOVEABLE WASHING PLANT 1936, BY 382' OF SHAFTS AND DRIFTS 1937. WORKED ABOUT 1921 BY MEANS OF 3 SHALLOW SHAFTS AND 2 TUNNELS. IN 1936 THE GRAVEL WAS TO BE MINED BY MEANS OF A KOEHRING GASOLINE SHOVEL; EXPECT TO TREAT 600 CU. YDS. A DAY.
