Comments

Comment (Location): WHEDON CLAIMS INCLUDE BLACK HILL, BLUE BELL, MORENO, TOLBARD, TRES AMIGOS, WHEDON, DAISY, BABE, GLAMIS, AND CURLEY DEPOSITS.

Comment (Geology): GEOL.DESC: FISSURE DEPOSITS IN TERTIARY FANGLOMERATE OR LAVAS, OR IN OLDER GRANITE. THREE MAIN FISSURE SYSTEMS CAN BE TRACED FOR A MILE. THE ORE IS FOUND IN SHOOTS, ONE OF WHICH IS OVER 500 FEET IN LENGTH, 7 FEET WIDE, AND 60 FEET IN MAXIMUM DEPTH. ORE BODIES AVERAGE 2 TO 3 FEET IN THICKNESS. THE ORE IS MAINLY HARD MANGANESE OXIDE THAT FORMS A CEMENT AROUND PEBBLES AND ROCK FRAGMENTS IN BRECCIATED CONGLOMERATES ADJACENT TO FISSURES. SOFT MANGANESE OXIDE, INCLUDING MANGANITE (?), IS ALSO PRESENT. IN THE BLACK HILL CLAIM THE ORE IS IN FRACTURED GRANITE ADJACENT TO FISSURES. GENERAL STRIKE OF THE FISSURES IS NORTHEAST, AND THE DIP IS NEARLY VERTICAL.
