Comment (General): "Magnetite Products Corp. (now Plicoflex, Inc.) formerly mined magnetite from an open-pit. In 1962, the company moved its operations to Iron Mountain." Bull. 50, p. 108.

Comment (Identification): Mine shown as Iron on Geological Survey of Wyoming's "Mineas and Minerals Map of Wyoming" in the equivalent of Sec. 2 appears to be an error based on the incorrect section in Bull. 50. ABW could find no indication of a mine in Sec. 2. The location given as sec. 21 in IC-8315 is assumed to be the correct location.
Comment (Reserve-Resource): RESERVES CALCULATED FROM AVERAGE DIMENSIONS ASSUMING AVERAGE AND DEPTH TO BE 1/2 OF MAXIMUM (REF 1) - PRODUCTION TO OF 150000 LONG TONS WAS SUBTRACTED TO ARRIVE AT RESERV
Comment (Location): E2 of sec. 21 (IC-8315, p. 15). Supposed location in Sec. 2 in Bull. 50, p. 108, appears to be a typo. There is a prospect on MF-119 in Sec. 21. There are no prospects in Sec. 2. Sec. 2 is mapped as hornblende syenite, not anorthosite, and therefore is unlikely to host this deposit, based on the two brief deposit descriptions not mentioning syenite. The mines and minerals map of Wyoming (1970) appears to propagate this error. Nor is there any indication of surface or road disturbances in Sec. 2.
