Comments
Comment (Location): 14 MILES SOUTH OF GOLCONDA IN GOLD RUN MINING DISTRICT. EIGHT CLAIMS ARE LAID OUT ALONG A METAMORPHOSED SILICIFIED SEDIMENTARY FORMATION IN CONTACT WITH DIORITE WHICH CAN BE TRACED FOR MORE THAN 1500 METERS IN A NORTHERLY- SOUTHERLY DIRECTION. THE CLAIMS HAVE BEEN PROSPECTED BY OPEN CUTS, TRENCHES, AND TUNNELS. MOST OF THE MINERALIZATION OCCURS IN THE MASSIVE UNALTERED ROCK AND CONSISTS OF PYRITE, MARCASITE, CHALCOPYRITE, AND A GREEN STAIN PROBABLY CARRYING SOME NICKEL AND COPPER. THERE ARE INDICATIONS THAT MOST OF THE WIDELY SCATTERED WORKINGS WERE PLACED ON OR NEAR CROSS-FRACTURING AND THE CONTINUITY OF ANY ORE BODIES ALONG THE STRIKE OF THE WHOLE ZONE COULD NOT BE EXPECTED. COBALT ASSAYS FROM 5 SAMPLES ARE 0.02 PERCENT AND LESS. SILVER ASSAYS FROM 3 SAMPLES AVERAGED 2.82 OUNCES PER TON. A PICKED SAMPLE OF THE ONLY PIECE OF MASSIVE SULFIDE ORE FOUND ON THE PROPERTY ASSAYED 20.39 PERCENT COPPER. OTHER THAN THAT COPPER AND NICKEL ASSAYS LESS THAN ONE PERCENT. GOLD ASSAYS FROM 3 SAMPLES ARE LESS THAN 0.006 PERCENT
