Comments
Comment (Deposit): SHAFT OBLITERATED BY LARGE SCALE PLACER DREDGING AND THE WORKINGS FLOODED. THE RELIANCE MINE IS ON THE SURVEYED BUT NOT PATENTED COPENHAGEN CLAIM WHICH IS CONTIGUOUS AND ON THE SOUTH SIDE OF THE ORPHANT PATENTED CLAIM. BOTH OF THESE CLAIMS WERE OPERATED BY THE RELIANCE MINING COMPANY. THE RELIANCE SHAFT IS 464 FT. DEEP WITH 4,000 FT WORKINGS. IN 1946 THE SHAFT BUILDINGS WERE REMOVED, THE AREA PREPARED FOR AND DREDGED THE OVERLYING GRAVELS BY THE MANHATTAN GOLD DREDING COMPANY.
