Comments
Comment (Deposit): DATE OF DISCOVERY AND INITIAL PRODUCTION ARE FOR THE POST DEPOSIT. NO DATA COULD BE FOUND FOR THE BETZE DEPOSIT. SECOND TRACT: SEC. 24, T36N, R49E. GENERAL LOCATION IS ABOUT 38 KM NW OF CARLIN.
Comment (Reserve-Resource): PYRITE IS ARGENTIFEROUS AND AERIFEROUS. TOTAL DEMONSTRATED RESOURCES; PROVEN + PROBABLE + MINERALIZED MATERIAL (MEA + IND ORE); 12/31/96: PRODUCTION BASED ON AVG OF LAST FIVE YEARS, (92-96).
Comment (Economic Factors): MILL IS LOCATED ON SITE AND IS ACTIVE. MILLING IS CYANIDE HEAP LEACH, CTL, CCD, & PRES. OXIDATION.
Comment (Geology): ORE IS ALSO CONTROLLED BY FRACTURING-BRECCIATION. GENERAL SIZE OF ORE BODY IS VERY LARGE. BEST MINERALIZATION OCCURS AT INTERSECTION OF HIGH-ANGLE STRUCTURES AND FOLLOWING LOW-ANGLE STRUCTURES. ABOUT 4 TO 5 AREAS OR ZONES OF GOLD MINERALIZATION OCCUR IN MINE AREA. NORTHWEST-TRENDING HIGH-ANGLE FAULTS (PRE-MINERAL) HAVE DOMINANT CONTROL OVER MINERALIZATION. INDIVIDUAL MINERAL ZONES ARE 60 TO 300 M IN LENGTH WITH NORTHWEST ELONGATION AND 15 TO 60 M IN WIDTH. BOTH OXIDE AND UNOXIDIZED ORE EXISTS. OXIDE ORE IS KNOWN TO EXIST UP TO 220 METERS DEEP. UNOXIDIZED SULFIDE ORE HAS BEEN AS SHALLOW AS 20 M. THE SCREAMER ORE BODY IS THE WESTERM CONTINUATION OF THE BETZE ORE BODY AN IS INCLUDED IN THE BETZE-POST RESERVES.
Comment (Economic Factors): MINING METHOD IS OPEN PIT.
Comment (Geology): GOLD TO SILVER RATIO IS 20:1.
Comment (Production): INITIAL PRODUCTION BY PAN CANA INDUSTRIES FROM 1976-77. HEAP LEACH OPERATION IN PROD. 1988. 1988 AU PROD.= 120,000 OZ. CIL MILL COMMISSIONED AUG. 1988. AU PROD.FOR 1989 = 207,264 OZ FROM 1,483,000 MT ORE LEACHED AND MILLED. 1996: 992,007 T OZ FROM AUTOCLAVING; 16,986 T OZ LEACH: FIRST 6 MONTHS, 1996:
Comment (Workings): DATA COMPILED FROM U.S. BUREAU OF MINES FILES & COMPANY ANNUAL REPORTS.
Comment (Geology): LINE 1 OF ROCK DATA IS REALLY A CARBONACEOUS ARGILLITE. LINE 7 OF ROCK DATA IS A GRANODIORITE-TO-DIORITE STOCK. LINE 8 OF ROCK DATA IS A QUARTZ LATITE AND LATITE DIKE. LINE 9 OF ROCK DATA IS A SKARN (ZENOLITHS IN DIORITE STOCK).
