Comment (Deposit): TRENCHING, DRILLING, CORING, GEOCHEMISTRY, PETROGRAPHY. PALEOZOIC OR PREPALEOZOIC METASEDIMENT FORMING A N.-PITCHING ANTICLINE. FOSTER PROSPECT IS ON AXIS OF FOLD. STRATA ARE PRINCIPALLY THINLY INTERBEDDED QUARTZOSE SCHISTS WITH MAJOR PORTION PARTIALLY DOLOTOMIZED MARBLE. PROSPECT IS FORMED OF A ZONALLY ARRANGED PB-AG-BEARING GOSSAN. THE GOSSAN IS PRIMARILY LIMONITE AND GOETHITE WITH SOME CERUSSITE AND LESS ANGELESITE. PRINCIPAL PB MINERALIZATION IS GALENA NODULES <1 IN. TO 2 FT IN DIAMETER. POSSIBLE RESIDUAL CONCENTRATION OF GALENA. DEPOSITION PROBABLY DUE TO SOLUTION ENTERING FRACTURES ON FOLD AXIS WITH IRREGULAR REPLACEMENT OF MARBLE. SILVER CONTENT APPEARS TO INCREASE WITH DEPTH (RI6018). ADDITIONAL DEPOSIT NAMES: DRY, JIM, LODE CLAIMS 1-8.
