Comment (Location): The reference for this site needs to be checked. County name is Jefferson. However, lat/long plots 430 m inside adjacent Silver Bow county. Coordinates are: lat/long NAD27 46-0-52N 112-26-46W (46.0144 -112.4461); UTM N5096451 E388050 Z12N; PLSS line# 1: Meridian- Montana Principal, TWNSHP 003 N, RNG 007 W, Sect 16, Sect_fract C N2. PLSS coordinates translate to 46.016 -112.477, 2.5 km and two sections further west into Silver Bow county, almost in a mine pit. Not likely to be correct. Mindat.org holding for Lucky Karen Placer mentions the Pipestone district, but same lat/long - county conflict. Populated place Pipestone is located in Jefferson county, 21 km SE of the current lat/long. Since there is no obvious source of error or resolution, the county name was changed to Silver Bow until the reference can be checked.
Comment (Reference): The short citation in the reference field is probably: 1976 "Directory of Mining Enterprises for 1975". Montana Bureau of Mines and Geology, Bulletin 100. Montana College of Mineral Science and Technology, Butte.
