It does not definitively identify property status, nor does it indicate claim status or whether an area is open to prospecting. Always respect private property.

Comment (Deposit): QUARTZ VEIN IN FAULTS AND SHEAR ZONES CARRY CINNABAR, PER TON. SOURCE OF MOST OF MERCURY IN RAINY CREEK. MODERN HYDROTHERMICALLY ALTERED DIABASE SILLS THAT CUT CRETACEOUS SANDSTONES AMD SHALES. SAMPLES TAKEN ACROSS WIDTHS OF 3-6 IN. CONTAINED AS MUCH AS 45.8 LBS. MERCURY PER TON; SAMPLES ACROSS GREATER WIDTHS CONTAINED NO MORE THAN 10 LBS. MERCURY MAPPING SHOWS THAT DEPOSIT IS IN BETHEL QUAD. RATHER THAN IN GOODNEWS QUAD (HOARE AND COBB).
