Comment (Location): AS OF MAY, 1997 OPERATION COULD NOT BE LOCATED AT STATED MILS LAT/LONG & TOWNSHIP & RANGE. THIS LOCATION IS NOT IN INYO, CTY, CALIFORNIA. PROPERTY COULD BE RELATED TO THE SUITCASE-MINERAL HILL PROPERTY IN INYO, CTY, CALIFORNIA. HOWEVER A GOOD LOCATION OF THIS PROPERTY HAS NOT BEEN ESTABLISHED. THE MAP NAME LISTED IN MILS IS INCORRECT FOR THIS PROPERTY. THIS PROPERTY COULD BE NEAR THE BIG FOUR MINE MAS SEQ# 0060270203: LOCATED ALONG THE WEST SLOPE OF THE PANAMINT MT RANGE IN INYO, CTY, CALIFORNIA.Latitude had a typo. It is corrected.
Comment (Location): Original lat/long DMS N-34-13-50, W-118-2-59 agrees with the records UTM but disagrees with everything else. It plots in Los Angeles county and disagrees with DD in the same record. In this case, the WGS84 lat/long was calculated from the DMS so it was also wrong. I interpreted the previous (1997) location comment with it's curious lower-case prologue to mean the lat/long was not to be trusted (even though the DD coords 37.2306, -118.0497 are fairly close to the old_MRDS coords). I used the old_MRDS coords of 37.22472, -117.94111 since it had consistent UTM and a description of 17mi NE of Big Pine (must be the city, not the mine). The UTM coords were cleared.
