Comment (Geology): Geologic Description = The country rock is dark, greasy-looking chloritic schist cut by small quartz veins (Smith, 1913 [B 525, p. 208]). Bedrock in the area has been mapped as biotite schist and amphibolite of the Muskox sequence (Newberry and others, 1996). In 1912, Smith (1913 [B 525, p. 208]) noted an inactive prospect pit at this site.
