Mine Info
Satelite View
MRDS mine locations are often very general, and in some cases are incorrect. Some mine remains have been covered or removed by modern industrial activity or by development of things like housing. The satellite view offers a quick glimpse as to whether the MRDS location corresponds to visible mine remains.

Comment (Geology): Age = Holocene.
Comment (Reference): Primary Reference = Mertie, 1938
Comment (Geology): Geologic Description = Mertie (1938, p. 88) reported a general area of lode mineralization and its relation to granitic stocks on the ridge southwest of Sunshine Valley (GO001), and noted that some placer gold had been found in the streams that drain eastward into Sunshine Valley from this ridge. This occurrence is arbitrarily located on the drainage that heads against the area of lode mineralization.
Comment (Deposit): Other Comments = This occurrence is within Wood-Tikchik State Park.
