Mine Info
Satelite View
MRDS mine locations are often very general, and in some cases are incorrect. Some mine remains have been covered or removed by modern industrial activity or by development of things like housing. The satellite view offers a quick glimpse as to whether the MRDS location corresponds to visible mine remains.

Comments
Comment (Geology): Age = Quaternary.
Comment (Reference): Primary Reference = This record
Comment (Workings): Workings / Exploration = Surface only.
Comment (Geology): Geologic Description = Sunday Creek drains an area underlain by Eocene to Miocene, poorly consolidated, pebbly sandstone, claystone, and subituminous coal, and a basement complex of Paleozoic or older Birch Creek Schist and Mesozoic and Tertiary plutons (Wilson and others, 1998). The probable sources of the placer gold in Sunday Creek are paleoplacers in the Tertiary sedimentary rocks.
Comment (Deposit): Model Name = Placer Au (Cox and Singer, 1986; model 39a)
Comment (Exploration): Status = Probably inactive
