Comment (Geology): Geologic Description = The area of this occurrence is underlain by a Cretaceous melange comprising tectonic blocks of Paleozoic and upper Mesozoic cherty tuff, chert, argillite, and fine-grained volcanic sandstone, in a matrix of argillite, slate, shale, and graywacke (Wilson and others, 1998). The deposit is described only as a gold-rich occurrence (Berg and Cobb, 1967).
