Mine Info
Satelite View
MRDS mine locations are often very general, and in some cases are incorrect. Some mine remains have been covered or removed by modern industrial activity or by development of things like housing. The satellite view offers a quick glimpse as to whether the MRDS location corresponds to visible mine remains.

Comment (Reference): Primary Reference = Berryhill, 1963
Comment (Geology): Age = Holocene.
Comment (Geology): Geologic Description = Berryhill (1963, sample 50) collected an auger sample of beach sand from this locality that contained a trace amount of flour gold in the heavy-mineral concentrate. In 1937, gold in workable amounts was reported in some of the beach deposits northwest of Hagemeister Island and in the valley of the Slug River (Smith, 1939, p. 63 [B 910-A]).
Comment (Deposit): Model Name = Placer Au-PGE; beach (Cox and Singer, 1986; model 39a)
Comment (Workings): Workings / Exploration = No workings are present.
