Comment (Geology): Geologic Description = The country rocks in the area of this site are porphyritic quartz monzonite and granodiorite of the Eocene Davis River Pluton (Smith, 1977; Berg and others, 1988). According to U.S. Bureau of Mines claim records (1977), this placer claim, which appears to be in an area underlain by quartz monzonite or granodiorite, adjacent to a north-northeast-trending, high-angle fault, was staked for Fe. No other information about it has been made public.
