Comment (Geology): Geologic Description = The country rocks in the area of this site are Upper Jurassic or Cretaceous andesitic or basaltic metavolcanic rocks (Berg, 1972 [I 684]). The rocks were regionally metamorphosed to greenschist-grade phyllite and semischist in Late Cretaceous time. According to U.S. Bureau of Mines claim records (1977), this prospect, which apparently is in an area underlain by the metavolcanic rocks, was staked for gold. No other information about it has been made public.
