Comment (Geology): Geologic Description = The area of this site is underlain by Upper Jurassic or Cretaceous flyschlike metasedimentary rocks (Berg, 1972 [I 684]; Berg and others, 1988). The rocks were regionally metamorphosed to greenschist-grade phyllite and semischist in Late Cretaceous time. . The occurrence consists of quartz-calcite-pyrite fissure veins in argillite and minor metagraywacke (Karl, 1992, loc. 6). A sample of one of the veins contained 2 ppm Ag and 150 ppm Cr.
