About the MRDS Data:
All mine locations were obtained from the USGS Mineral Resources Data System. The locations and other information in this database have not been verified for accuracy. It should be assumed that all mines are on private property.
Mine Info
Satelite View
MRDS mine locations are often very general, and in some cases are incorrect. Some mine remains have been covered or removed by modern industrial activity or by development of things like housing. The satellite view offers a quick glimpse as to whether the MRDS location corresponds to visible mine remains.

Comments
Comment (Reference): Primary Reference = Brooks, 1916 (B 642)
Comment (Workings): Workings / Exploration = Placer prospect holes were reported in 1915 (Brooks, 1916; B 642).
Comment (Geology): Geologic Description = Good prospects of fine placer gold were reported in 1915 (Brooks, 1916; B 642); a hole about a mile above the mouth hit bedrock at 52 feet. About 1.5 miles above the mouth on slope gravel, bedrock is greater than 125 feet deep (Brooks, 1916; B 642). Bedrock is mainly Ordovician chert possibly with some limestone and dolomite (Eberlein and others, 1977). There is no mention of mining or prospecting after 1915.
Comment (Deposit): Model Name = Placer gold deposit (Cox and Singer, 1986; model 39a).
Comment (Exploration): Status = Inactive
