Satelite View

MRDS mine locations are often very general, and in some cases are incorrect. Some mine remains have been covered or removed by modern industrial activity or by development of things like housing. The satellite view offers a quick glimpse as to whether the MRDS location corresponds to visible mine remains.

Comments

Comment (Exploration): Status = Probably inactive

Comment (Deposit): Model Name = Cu-Au skarn? (Cox and Singer, 1986; model 18b)

Comment (Geology): Age = Flanigan (1998) interprets the Aladdin deposit to be related to magmatic fluids from the Khotol pluton, based on its proximity to the pluton and its low molybdenum content . K-Ar and Ar/Ar dates for the Khotol pluton are approximately 110 Ma (Flanigan, 1998).

Comment (Geology): Geologic Description = This occurrence is in garnet-quartz-chlorite-muscovite schist and consists of sparse gossan float, disseminated pyrite in the schist, and chalcopyrite in siliceous hornfels (skarn?). Six rock samples contained up to 1510 ppm copper, 85 ppm lead, 1.1 ppm silver, and 210 ppm arsenic (Flanigan, 1998). Flanigan interprets the Aladdin deposit to be related to magmatic fluids from the Khotol pluton, based on its proximity to the pluton and its low molybdenum content . K-Ar and Ar/Ar dates for the Khotol pluton are approximately 110 Ma (Flanigan, 1998). Also see NL012-014, 016, and 019-022.

Comment (Reference): Primary Reference = Flanigan, 1998

Comment (Workings): Workings / Exploration = This occurrence was discovered by Anaconda Minerals Company in 1980 or 1982 (Flanigan, 1998).
