Mine Info
Satelite View
MRDS mine locations are often very general, and in some cases are incorrect. Some mine remains have been covered or removed by modern industrial activity or by development of things like housing. The satellite view offers a quick glimpse as to whether the MRDS location corresponds to visible mine remains.

Comments
Comment (Exploration): Status = Inactive
Comment (Reference): Primary Reference = Bundtzen and others, 1994
Comment (Workings): Workings / Exploration = This placer mine was worked by surface open-cut operations.
Comment (Geology): Geologic Description = Placer mine tailings at a former mine site were mapped by Bundtzen and others (1994) in an unnamed east-flowing tributary of Nome River. Bedrock near the mine site is the chlorite rich metaturbidite schist and marble unit of Bundtzen and others (1994). The mine site is about one-half mile west of the Anvil Creek fault.
Comment (Geology): Age = Quaternary.
Comment (Deposit): Other Comments = This small mine apparently is just above the Seward Ditch, and just below an unnamed ditch.
Comment (Deposit): Model Name = Alluvial placer Au (Cox and Singer, 1986; model 39a).
