Comment (Geology): Geologic Description = A single lode claim was staked for gold in 1962 and was active through at least 1997 (U.S. Bureau of Mines, 1980). Rocks in the vicinity consist of Cretaceous schist and hornfels and Cretaceous tonalite and related intermediate plutonic rocks (Brew and others, 1984).
