Mine Info
Satelite View
MRDS mine locations are often very general, and in some cases are incorrect. Some mine remains have been covered or removed by modern industrial activity or by development of things like housing. The satellite view offers a quick glimpse as to whether the MRDS location corresponds to visible mine remains.

Comments
Comment (Workings): Workings / Exploration = Rock sample 84ADt177, collected by the U. S. Geological Survey in the mid-1980's, was reported to be anomalous in lead and zinc (Wilson and others, 1988).
Comment (Reference): Primary Reference = Wilson and others, 1988
Comment (Deposit): Other Comments = This occurrence is located on land selected by the Aleut corporation.
Comment (Geology): Geologic Description = This occurrence is in interbedded siltstone and sandstone in the Lower Cretaceous Shumagin Formation near a contact with a dike or outlier of the Shumagin Batholith (Wilson and others, 1995).
