Comment (Exploration): Status = Probably inactive
Comment (Geology): Geologic Description = Smith (1909) reports that profitable mining took place on this creek before 1908. The small headwater tributaries to Telegram Creek were all placer mined by small-scale methods during early mining in the Iron Creek area. The gravels are probably thin, locally derived, and lay on lower Paleozoic metasedimentary rocks that comprise the bedrock in the area (Till and others, 1986).
