Satelite View

MRDS mine locations are often very general, and in some cases are incorrect. Some mine remains have been covered or removed by modern industrial activity or by development of things like housing. The satellite view offers a quick glimpse as to whether the MRDS location corresponds to visible mine remains.

Comments

Comment (Reserve-Resource): Reserves = Not defined

Comment (Geology): Age = Quaternary

Comment (Production): Production Notes = Not known

Comment (Reference): Primary Reference = Cobb, 1975

Comment (Geology): Geologic Description = Bedrock in the Moonlight Creek drainage is a chlorite and mica schist assemblage that is locally intruded by small greenstone bodies (Sainsbury, 1972); the age of this assemblage is uncertain but it is probably Paleozoic. Some small scale placer mining apparently took place early in the century but other information has not been recorded about this deposit.

Comment (Deposit): Model Name = Alluvial Au placer (Cox and Singer, 1986; model 39a)

Comment (Workings): Workings / Exploration = Not known

Comment (Exploration): Status = Probably inactive
