Unnamed (in the Yenlo Hills)

The Unnamed (in the Yenlo Hills) is a pge, nickel, chromium, and gold mine located in Alaska.

About the MRDS Data:

All mine locations were obtained from the USGS Mineral Resources Data System. The locations and other information in this database have not been verified for accuracy. It should be assumed that all mines are on private property.

Satelite View

MRDS mine locations are often very general, and in some cases are incorrect. Some mine remains have been covered or removed by modern industrial activity or by development of things like housing. The satellite view offers a quick glimpse as to whether the MRDS location corresponds to visible mine remains.

Comments

Comment (Reference): Primary Reference = This record

Comment (Geology): Geologic Description = Diamond Gold Corporation reports a discovery of gold-rich arsenopyrite veins that average 0.10 oz/ton gold and 2 oz/ton silver (company press release, 10/14/98). Trenching exposes the one vein in a 400-foot-long zone (width not specified). They indicate the mineralization is related to the 'Hudson Stock', a gabbro body which returned assays of anomalous nickel, chromite and platinum-group-elements (values not released). The ultramafic body, which intrudes Mesozoic marine sedimentary rocks (KJs, Reed and Nelson, 1980), produced extensive hornfels areas with stockwork quartz veinlets (C.C. Hawley, oral communication).

Comment (Workings): Workings / Exploration = Trenching, rock chip sampling and mapping by Diamond Gold Corporation were conducted during 1998. They indicate the mineralization is related to the 'Hudson Stock', a gabbro body which returned assays of anomalous nickel, chromite and platinum-group-elements (values not released).

Comment (Exploration): Status = Active
