Mine Info
Satelite View
MRDS mine locations are often very general, and in some cases are incorrect. Some mine remains have been covered or removed by modern industrial activity or by development of things like housing. The satellite view offers a quick glimpse as to whether the MRDS location corresponds to visible mine remains.

Comments
Comment (Reference): Primary Reference = Glavinovich, 1967
Comment (Geology): Geologic Description = The area of this occurrence is underlain by the Middle or Upper Triassic Nikolai Greenstone, a thick sequence of subaerial and submarine basalt flows and minor interbedded volcaniclastic sedimentary rocks, aquagene and epiclastic tuff, breccia, argillite, and radiolarian chert (Nokleberg and others, 1992). This occurrence was described by Glavinovich (1976) as follows: 'The mineralized sample was found in talus. The mineralization consists of malachite, minor chalcocite and bornite occurring in small quartz pods and stringers in an amygdaloidal andesite.'
Comment (Deposit): Model Name = Hydrothermally altered shear zone.
Comment (Geology): Age = Triassic or younger.
Comment (Exploration): Status = Inactive
