Comments
Comment (Commodity): Ore Materials: gold
Comment (Development): The deposit was reportedly still in exploration phase in 1987. The topo map shows extensive drill roads, surface exploration trenching and 2 open pit mines on the Ratto Canyon side of Pinnacle Peak and Lookout Mountain in the vicinity of the probable deposit. Staccato website (2004) reports that ?Recent production (1970-1985) consists of 30,000-40,000 ounces Au produced from the adjacent Windfall Mine and the Ratto Canyon/Lookout Mountain Pits. ?
Comment (Location): The Ratto Canyon Deposit is located on the west side of Ratto Canyon on the east flanks of Pinnacle Peak and Lookout Mountain in the north part of the Fish Creek Range .
Comment (Workings): open pit
Comment (Economic Factors): IN 1984, a resource of about 200,000 ounces of gold was reported for the Ratto Canyon Deposit. The Ratto Canyon resource was described in 2006 as 5,400,000 tons of material grading 0.03 ounces of gold per ton with about 162,000 ounces of gold unmined.
Comment (Identification): This record encompasses the area described by earlier record, M242944. The current record includes all material from that record plus additional information.
