Comment (Development): The Buckskin is the oldest mine in the district. Gold ore was mined during World War I, and also intermittently from 1930-1950. The mine was owned and operated by Ambassador Gold Mine Ltd. in 1936, at which time the mill was reconstructed (a 50-ton flotation plant). The property was purchased in 1970 by Lion Hill Mines who did diamond drilling in 1971, 1972 and 1973. 12 holes were completed to a depth of 400 feet along strike for 1000 feet. Pacific Silver was drilling and developing the 230 ft level in April 1983. Pacific Silver increased stated reserves from 300000 tons to 400000 tons averaging 0.2 oz Au/t, 0.4 oz Ag/t and 0.9 % Cu with a potential of 1.5 million tons ore. The Buckskin Mine was listed in 1983 as an active underground gold-copper mine with ongoing development, employing 18 persons. The mine reported production from 1981 to 1986. The mine was closed in 1986 due to depletion of reserves

Comment (Economic Factors): the mione produced $73,093worth orf ore in 1937. There was an unknown amount of production from 1981to 1986. About 1983,Pacific Silver increased stated reserves from 300000 tons to 400000 tons averaging 0.2 oz Au/t, 0.4 oz Ag/t and 0.9 % Cu with a potential of 1.5 million tons ore.
