Mine Info
Satelite View
MRDS mine locations are often very general, and in some cases are incorrect. Some mine remains have been covered or removed by modern industrial activity or by development of things like housing. The satellite view offers a quick glimpse as to whether the MRDS location corresponds to visible mine remains.

Comment (Workings): Site visit 8/12-2010 by A.B. Wilson and W. Heran, USGS. Some timbers, a partly submerged iron wheel (apparently one of the two wheels shown in the photo in Hausel, 1993, p. 19, fig. 20), and a concrete footing (also visible in fig. 20) are about all that remain of the old mill. There are several small pits (perhaps caved shafts or adits) well within a hundred yards/meters or so to the west of the mill remains. Mill and all prospects are long since abandoned. Workings are located in a rusty shear zone, that has been referred to gossaniferous (Hausel, 1997, p. 129).
Comment (Location): Location by GPS on the remaining concrete footing by A.B. Wilson, 8/12/2010. Agrees very well with generalized location on p. 2 of Hausel, 1993.
Comment (Deposit): No visible ore minerals found during site visit (12-aug-2010).
