Alaska
March 22, 2018 – Alaska mines have been indexed alphabetically.
Previously the mines in Alaska were not indexed and searchable or browsable. In the other states, mines are indexed by county, but mines in Alaska are not associated with counties so the taxonomy used in the other states did not work. This has been resolved by grouping the mines by the letter that their primary name starts with: Example mines starting with “S” or “T” click here.
I realize this solution is not ideal as it would be preferable to browse mines based on a cohesive geographic area. This was not possible at this time, but I will look into improvements at a future date.
