Golconda Mill, circa 1920.
Located at what is now the Golconda Freeway Exit 64, on the northside of the freeway. Lead-zinc mine Photo by Barnard Studio, Wallace circa 1920.
Hercules Mine Circa 1898.
Men posing at the station on 2200 level with a Jackass underground, Hercules Mine, one of the first to pay out a million dollars in dividends at the turn of the century. Owned by Huttons, Paulsens, Days and others prominent in the mining industry at that time. Mine eventually closed due to the iron plat that kept the drills lfrom exploring the earth beneath the mine. The Star mine eventually mines the Hercules from the bottom (I think this is true)*
