Comments
Comment (Deposit): OVAL PEGMATITE CONSISTS OF WALL ZONE OF QUARTZ-MICROCLINE-BIOTITE AND CORE OF MICROCLINE-QUARTZ. CROSSCUTTING REPLACEMENT OF FLUORITE, YTTROFLUORITE, GADOLINITE, AND MONAZITE. SELECTIVE FLUORITE REPLACEMENT OF GRAPHIC GRANITE IN WALL ZONE PRODUCES FLUORITE-FELDSPAR ROCK.
Comment (Development): LAST REPORTED PRODUCTION WAS 20 ST RAE AND QTZ IN 1965
Comment (Workings): OPEN CUT
Comment (Location): ALONG UNNAMED TRIBUTARY OF SPRING CREEK 2 MILES ENE OF LONG SCRAGGY PEAK ; INFO FROM LAND.ST :(1975). Location confirmed based on description in RS-11 compared with topo and satellite imagery.
Comment (Orebody): 100' X 120', oval. Wall zone. Core is composite of quartz + microcline. Minor replacement. Cross-cutting replacements of fluorite, yttrofluorite, gadolinite, monazite; selective fluorite replacement of wall zone graphic granite producing graphic fluorite-feldspar rock. Mined for quartz, feldspar, and rare earths. (RS-11, p. 98, #20).
