Comment (Commodity): MOLYBDENITE IN FLAKES UP TO 1/2"
Comment (Location): WORCESTER GIVES LOCATION AS 300 FT NORTH OF COPPER KING WORKINGS O N SOUTH SIDE OF PRAIRIE DIVIDE. ; INFO FROM LAND.ST :1980
Comment (Workings): FIRST SHAFT IS 35 FT DEEP WITH 10-FT DRIFT FROM BOTTOM RUNNING N 60 W; JUST TO WEST IS SECOND SHAFT, 45 FT DEEP WITH 25-FT DRIFT FROM B OTTOM
Comment (Deposit): WORCESTER (1919) DESCRIBES MO OCCURRING AS SMALL IRREGULAR GRAINS AND AGGREGATES IN POCKETS IN PEGMATITE. WEST SHAFT WAS SUNK ON CONTAC T BETWEEN GRANITE AND COARSE-GRAINED PEGMATITE. THIS "VEIN" COULD ACTU ALLY BE SKARN DEPOSIT SIMILAR TO THAT DESCRIBED AT COPPER KING MINE JU ST TO SOUTH BY SIMS AND OTHERS (1958), AS IT SUPPOSEDLY CONTAINED LARG E QUANTITIES OF MAGNETITE. SEE COPPER KING MINE RECORD FOR DETAILED DE SCRIPTION OF SKARN.
