NEAR CREBEC SHAFT, SW-DIPPING BLANKET REPLACEMENTS REST ON HARD, FINE-GRAINED SHATTERED SANDSTONE AND OVERLAIN BY SHATTERED GRAY SHALE. BLANKET COMPOSITION VARIES FROM (1) 4-FT-THICK MASS OF CELLULAR OR LOOSELY COHERING LIMONISTE WITH FRAGMENTS OF SANDSTONE AND ALTERED LIMESTONE TO (2) YELLOW, CLAYEY MATERIAL CONTAINING STREAK OF ARGENTIFEROUS OCHEROUS MATERIAL AND UPPER BAND OF PB SULFATE. MASSIVE PYRITE LENSES OCCUR IN SERVERAL SANDSTONE AND SHALE HORIZONS ABOVE BLANKET, SOME SEPARATED BY SEVERAL INCHES OF CRUSHED SHALE. ONE LARGE MASS OVER 40 FT THICK OCCURRED 50 FT ABOVE MAIN BLANKET AND CONSISTED OF THREE FLAT BODIES SEPARATED BY SHALE LAYERS.
