Comment (Location): (LAND STATUS AND ADMINISTRATIVE AREA LOCATIONS CALCULATED USING GIS OVERLAY ANALYSIS FOR SAN JUAN N. F.). ON SW SIDE OF LEWIS MTN NEAR HEAD OF LEWIS CREEK AND WEST OF EAGLE PASS, 2.8 MILES NE OF LA PLATA TOWNSITE (UNSURVEYED SECTION). ; INFO FROM LAND.ST :1974
Comment (Production): APPARENT COMPLETE PRODUCTION RECORD. NO RECORD OF PREVIOUS PRODUCTION.
Comment (Deposit): COUNTRY ROCK CONSISTS OF BLEACHED AND PARTLY SILICIFIED CUTLER FM RED BEDS INTRUDED BY DIORITE-MONZONITE PORPHYRY SILLS. VEIN IS PROBABLY EXTENSION OF GOLD KING-EUREKA VEIN AND DIPS 60 TO 70 NORTH NEAR LOWER ADIT BUT CHANGES TO VERTICAL ABOVE UPPER ADIT. VEIN FOLLOWS 1- TO 4-FT-WIDE FRACTURE ZONE WITH 8 TO 14 INCHES OF VEIN MATTER CONSISTING OF VEINLETS AND SMALL LENSES OF INTIMATELY INTERGROWN PYRITE AND TETRAHEDRITE WITH SOME GALENA, SPHALERITE, AND ARSENOPYRITE. MINE IS OF PARTICULAR INTEREST IN THAT IT PROVES EXISTENCE OF WORKABLE ORE FARTHER EAST THAN OTHER KNOWN ZONES ON GOLD VEIN.
Comment (Workings): MINE DEVELOPED BY THREE ADITS. UPPER ADIT DRIVEN SE AND INACCESSIBLE. MIDDLE ADIT DRIVEN S 70 E FOR 95 FT WITH SMALL 12-FT-LONG OVERHAND STOPE ABOUT 30 FT FROM PORTAL. THIRD ADIT DRIVEN SE PARALLEL TO VEIN FOR 25 FT, THENCE SOUTH FOR 205 FT.
