Comment (Deposit): THORIUM VEINS IN THIS AREA ARE ONE OF FOUR ENVIRONMENTS OF TH OCCURRENCE KNOWN IN THE POWDERHORN-IRON HILL AREA AND ARE PROBABLY RELATED TO EMPLACEMENT OF LATE PRECAMBRIAN SYENITES NORTH AND WEST OF IRON HILL AND OF YOUNGER LATE PRECAMBRIAN OR CAMBRIAN CARBONATITES AT IRON HILL. FOLIATION OF GRANITE COUNTRY ROCK TRENDS GENERALLY N 45 TO 55 W, 80 TO 90 NW. PRINCIPAL FAULT TRENDS N 85 TO 90 E AND TOWARDS WESTERN END, IT CUTS ACROSS AND SLIGHTLY DISPLACES CONTACT BETWEEN GRANITE AND DUBOIS GREENSTONE.
Comment (Workings): FOUR SURFACE PROSPECT PITS AND ONE SHAFT OF UNKNOWN DEPTH.
Comment (Geology): OTHER MINERALS LISTED ABOVE ARE GENERAL OCCURRENCE REPORTED FOR TH VEINS IN AREA; ALL MAY NOT NECESSARILY OCCUR AT THIS SITE.
