Comments
Comment (Location): SINGEWALD (1913) GIVES LOCATION OF MOST EXTENSIVE WORKINGS AS IN A DRAW ONE MILE NE OF CEBOLLA HOT SPRINGS. ELEV AND LAT-LONG GIVEN ARE FOR PROSPECTS ON MAGNETITE-PEROVSKITE STRINGER ON NW SIDE OF STONE GULCH 0.8 MILE NE OF POWDERHORN AND 0.25 MILE NE OF WORKINGS DESCRIBED AS TITAN (AABERITE) MINE.
Comment (Development): DEPOSIT WAS PROSPECTED AND WORKED TO SMALL EXTENT PROBABLY IN 1880S BY MR. CROOKE OF LAKE CITY, WHO SHIPPED THE ORE TO THE LAKE CITY SMELTER. SMELTER REFUSED FURTHER SHIPMENTS AFTER TITANIFEROUS CHARACTER OF ORE WAS DISCOVERED. HARRER AND TESCH (1959) CITE TOTAL PRODUCTION OF LESS THAN 4000 ST.
Comment (Workings): OPEN CUTS
Comment (Production): REPORTED FIGURE IS MAXIMUM PRODUCTION PROBABLY REALIZED IN THE 1880S.
