Comments
Comment (Deposit): DEPOSIT LIES NEAR NW RIM OF UNCOMPAHGRE CALDERA IN INFILL SEQUENCE COMPOSED OF HENSON MEMBER SANDSTONES, FISH CANYON TUFF, AND PORPHYRITIC ANDESITE FLOWS. SEQUENCE IS INTRUDED BY MIOCENE RHYOLITE PLUGS AT WEST END OF CHAIN OF SIMILAR PLUGS EMPLACED AFTER LAKE CITY CALDERA COLLAPSE. MALAN (1955) NOTED RADIOACTIVITY ASSOCIATED WITH FLOW BRECCIA. FRACTURES TRENDING N 80 E, 85 NW, APPARENTLY HAD NO CONTROL ON MINERALIZATION.
Comment (Geology): FISH CANYON TUFF
Comment (Location): PROSPECTS LOCATED ON BOTH SIDES OF MARY ALICE CREEK. ELEV AND LAT-LONG GIVEN ARE FOR PROSPECT ON RHYOLITE PLUG NE OF CREEK (SAME AS THAT SAMPLED BY STEVEN AND OTHERS, 1977), APPROX C SEC. 27. ; INFO FROM LAND.ST :1977
