Comment (Production): Total production is about 8,000,000 oz of silver, plus unknown amounts of lead, zinc, gold, and copper. (Bloom, 1965)

Comment (Production): Early production from 1888-90 totaled $559,355 in silver and $568,907 in lead. Output from 1901-23 from 31,682 tons of ore was 1,842 oz gold, 410,438 oz silver, 7,842,672 lb lead, 2,530,935 lb zinc, and 106,700 lb copper. (Behre, 1953)

Comment (Development): Hilltop and Sherman mines and surrounding claims (about 3600 acres) consolidated by mining company. (Sunshine files, 2000)

Comment (Geology): Ore bodies are in fault-controlled, solution-enlarged joint system.

Comment (Location): At the head of Fourmile Creek, south of Mount Sherman, about 7 miles ESE of Leadville, in NW/4 sec 1, T 10 S, R 79 W.
