Analytical Data

Analytical Data: Of the "rich free-gold ore" , PP-223, p. 272 states: "A few shipments ranging in weight from 2 1/4 to 43 3/4 pounds contained 1,103 to 2,285 ounces of gold and 170 to 276 ounces of silver to the ton. Other small shipments contained 16 ounces of gold and 5 ounces of silver to 1,010 ounces of gold and 99 ounces of sivler to the ton. The ratio of gold to silver in this high-grade ore ranged from 2:1 to 10:1."
Analytical Data: PP-223, p. 272: "The low-grade pyritic gold ore [...] has a tenor ranging from 0.38 to about 4 ounces of gold to the ton; the silver content is variable but averages about the same as that of gold. In 1932 ore from the top of the stope [...] averaged 1.6 ounces of gold to the ton, and 9 1/2 tons shpped in 1933 contained 0.38 to 0.82 ounce of gold to the ton.

Comment (Reserve-Resource): Sunshine Mining Co. files (Boulder County - Jamestown Project) contain reports that describe the Golden Age mine workings and geology, and include discussions of ore reserves, and exploration targets along the Golden Age-Sentinel vein system trend to the SW, including Columbine, Inexco, Rife, and Skunk adits. In 1992 Sunshine declined to do additional work.
