Mine Description
“The French Lily property (69), owned by Grove Brothers, of Mayer, is another of these peculiar flat veins. It was not visited but appears to be 2 miles southwest of Turkey Creek station, probably in granite. This vein, which is about 2 feet wide, dips 30° N. and is developed by an incline 190 feet long, with 250 feet of drifts on the second level. The best ore is said to contain 50 per cent of zinc and 1.5 ounces of gold to the ton. One carload has been shipped, and it is claimed that 800 tons has been developed. The ore shows a filled quartz vein with comb structure. A considerable amount of ore was shipped from this property in 1923.”
